2025/26

A huge THANK YOU to FOSRS who have provided our school with some lovely new playground equipment! The children really enjoyed their play times today, exploring the new toys and equipment, and playing new games with friends.

We had a blast during our Circus workshop today!

The Year 5 and 6 residential at Youlbury Scout Adventures was a huge success! The children faced and overcame challenges, formed stronger bonds and created new memories.

Outdoor team-building games in PE this term: the children worked in groups to form letters using their bodies, while another team tried to guess which letter they have made.

The Easter Bunny visited us on the last day of term! Happy Easter, everyone!

In the last week of term, the children have been bringing in their homework projects. This term, their Geography topic was all about conservation of resources.

We have been learning about Electricity in Science. The children began the unit by playing around with circuits to explore how they work.

Imma Bakery has organised a Gingerbread House Competition for the whole community to take part in, in order to raise funds for Stoke Row School. The funds go directly to benefiting the children's learning and school experiences. Please see details attached.

In Religious Education, the children were learning about different charities, and focusing on their mission statements and inspirations. The children then worked in groups, using their own inspirations, to create a mission statement for their own invented charity.

Our year 5s and 6s went to Longridge for their annual residential. The children had fun and showed courage and perseverance when faced with a challenge, and forged stronger bonds together.

We played a game outside to demonstrate how data is transmitted wirelessly, and how it can sometimes be corrupted.

The Easter Bunny visited the children and left some treats behind! We hope you have an egg-cellent Easter holiday!

Cricket fun in the sun with Chance to Shine

We've been learning about properties and changes of matter in Science. We did a fun experiment, dissolving different solids to create solutions. Our favourite was dissolving candyfloss, especially since we got to taste some at the end! Yum!

We walked down to the village Christmas tree where each child hung their own personally decorated bauble. Merry Christmas, everyone!

Well done to Logan who won the photography competition in the children's category for BBO Wildlife Trust. He won a lovely set of books for our school library. Well done, Logan!

After our incredibly fun workshop with The Junk Orchestra, we were inspired to create our own "junk" instruments.

We had fun on our Design & Technology days, learning about textiles and tie-dying garments to express our individuality.

Visit to the Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium

The children have been learning the skills to be assertive, and to stand up for what they believe is right. They created posters to display around the school to encourage others to be assertive.

We celebrated National Poetry Day on Thursday and got to write and perform our own pieces. On Friday, we had some fun coding using Micro:bits.

Bikeability Level 2 Cycle Training - Ocean Class learned the core functions for safe and responsible cycling. After spending some time practicing in the playground, the children bravely went on the road with the extremely supportive and experienced instructors to practice their new skills. The children showed our school values of courage and perseverance as they developed this important skill.

As part of our PSHE lesson, Ocean Class had to build a bridge using newspaper and tape. We first decided together on the criteria for a successful bridge and good teamwork. The children then worked well together, showing respect, kindness, resilience and support to build a bridge.

Ocean Class enjoying some shared reading with their 'Buddies' in Raindrop Class.

We came together as a whole school to read the story The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds - A growth mindset story about never giving up and always trying your best.
