Christian Distinctiveness
Stoke Row welcomes children and families of all faiths and none. As a Church of England school, our ethos is shaped by Christian principles, and our values of excellence, courage, kindness, respect and perseverance guide everything we do at school.
Our primary link is with St. John the Evangelist, part of the Langtree Team led by Reverend Kevin Davies. We also work with Stoke Row Chapel and Reverend Mark Taylor. Both ministers regularly visit our school and take part in special services throughout the year.
We are inspected through the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS).
Collective Worship
The school meets daily to share in collective worship, and we celebrate key events in the Christian calendar including Christmas and Easter.
- Monday - All school collective worship
- Tuesday - Foundation & KS1 collective worship (current events), KS2 collective worship (current events)
- Wednesday - All school collective worship with vicar
- Thursday - Sing and worship
- Friday - Celebration worship. Parents are invited to attend when worship is led by the Executive Headteacher and the year 6 pupils.
Spirituality
Spirituality and reflection at Stoke Row Church of England School relates to our vision of us all being a guiding light in the world. We refer to times of spirituality and reflection as ‘shining moments’.
Religious Education Curriculum
In line with our school vision, we aim to provide an RE curriculum that nurtures children to be a guiding light in the world, helping them become knowledgeable about the beliefs of others and respectful towards different communities. We follow the Oxfordshire Agreed Syllabus and our scheme of work is provided by the Diocese of Oxford.
The following three documents bring together the outcomes for each phase of education with a short narrative that explains how they link together.
