FOSRS

We would like to introduce you to FOSRS, Friends of Stoke Row School.

FOSRS is a registered charity which raises funds for the School. All parents, carers and staff at the school are members of the charity, family members and members of the community are also welcome to join and frequently support us. Our main objectives are to develop relationships between the school staff and governors and the parents/carers, the support the school by raising money to provide facilities and equipment and to fund activities that will advance the education of the pupils.

The FOSRS committee run the charity and are elected annually. Their role is to ensure events run smoothly and manage the funds raised. Most of our events need volunteers to help in preparation or running the event and generally the more people that help the lighter the load and more fun for everyone!

Annual events organised by FOSRS include a Quiz Night, Christmas Fair, Summer Fete, 10k Race, Children’s disco and of course several cake sales! These events and other are organised throughout the year and planned to ensure maximum enjoyment and participation of the school’s pupils as well as raising important funds. Some of each year’s events are non-fundraising and focused on the children’s enjoyment, these include the disco, Easter Egg Hunt and last year a Royal Wedding tea party. Others need a bit more physical effort, like last years skip day which was a rewarding working morning for many of the parents, teachers, governors and children. A now annual event is providing refreshments for the Stoke Row annual motorsports day which is a great way to be an active part of the village.

In recent years we have funded a new 17 seater mini bus and a toilet block! And during 2012 we worked with school to help reach their £60k target .

The FOSRS Committee for 2013 are:
