Welcome to Green Class!

Years 3 and 4 are taught in Green Class. All the children in Green Class are very responsible and pride themselves on keeping their classroom in order. Each child has a job which they are in charge of. These include: computer monitors, table points counters, cloakroom and lost property monitors, and PE monitors, to name but a few!

Green Class has produced some excellent and exciting pieces of writing. They have set stories in Anglo-Saxon times using actual historical facts to add interesting and accurate details. They have also been busy recounting an extraordinary and terrifying weekend when the elephant from the Maharajah’s Well came alive and caused havoc around the village… apparently.

Green Class continue to ensure that as an ‘Eco-School’ we are doing what we can to care for and protect our environment. They have followed an Action Plan based on past surveys and they take their monitoring of our energy consumption and use of resources very seriously – especially paper towels!

Green Class also enjoy learning outside the classroom, and on a snowy day one February they visited the University of Oxford Botanical Garden where they learnt about plants that eat insects and plants that can be used to make our clothes. They also hugged some trees and found out which plants like it cold and which ones like it hot. They also took the Waste Free Lunch Challenge. The aim was to have lunch whilst creating as little rubbish as possible. They tried to recycle, compost and reuse as many items in their packed lunches as possible.

Come in and see us in Green Class, we would love to show you what we have been learning about!
