Friends of Stoke Row School
What is Friends of Stoke Row School?
Friends of Stoke Row School (FOSRS) is a charity that works to support Stoke Row School. A copy of the constitution may be found here.
All parents, carers and staff at the school are members of the charity. Family members and members of the local community are also welcome to join.
The main objectives of the charity are to develop relationships between the school staff and the parents/carers, to support the school by raising money to provide facilities and equipment, and to fund activities that will advance the education of the pupils.
Annual events organised by FOSRS include the Easter raffle, summer barbecue, autumn disco, Christmas fair, and the school Christmas lunch. These events, and others organised throughout the year, are planned to ensure maximum enjoyment and participation of the school's pupils, as well as raising important funds.
The FOSRS committee runs the charity. They work hard to ensure that events run smoothly: most events need volunteers to help with preparation and running, and generally the more people that help, the lighter the load and more fun for everyone!
Friends of Stoke Row School Meetings
Committee meetings are held regularly - at least once per term. Notice of meetings is given in regular letters from FOSRS, and reminders are also posted around the school near the date.
Our meetings are friendly and informal, and we would like as many parents as possible to come. Everyone is welcome to contribute ideas and opinions.
New parents will find the meetings are a great opportunity to meet other parents and school staff and find out more about what is happening in and around the school in the coming months.
There is an Annual General Meeting held once a year, usually in September. All members of FOSRS (including all parents, carers, teachers and staff) can come to the meeting and are able to vote on issues discussed and elect the new committee.
You can request a copy of minutes of FOSRS meetings via email. A copy is also held in the school office. Visit the school web site to see recent FOSRS letters and details of events.
If you would like any further information on Friends of Stoke Row School or any of our activities, please feel free to speak to any of the committee members.
