Welcome to Blue Class

Hi, I’m Snoops and I’m here to tell you about Blue class!

 

The Blue class at Stoke Row School is where you find the foundation stage children - the youngest children in the school! Mr Gayford teaches the 13 children with some fantastic assistance from Jane and Sally. Together they make up the Blue class teaching team!

We are now well into the second term in school after a long and very successful first term in school. During this time the children have all settled in really well to the daily routines of school life and have made lots of new friends. I even started going home with the best behaved children at the weekends! In term 1 the children also started to learn lots letter sounds in a variety of different ways - singing, doing actions, showing objects beginning with that letter sound - all this before even writing the letters!

Our topic for the first term was ourselves - this meant that the children found out lots of things about themselves and their families and included an amazing trip to the natural history museum in London. You can see below some of the exciting things that the children have been doing in the term.

The topic for this term is Festivals and it has started with a bang, literally! The children have learnt all about Bonfire night and the traditions behind it. They have been very creative making firework pictures and have been doing some fun blastoff mathematics!

The children have also started their guided reading groups and are finishing learning their letter sounds. The coming weeks are going to be very busy - practising for the nativity play, learning about Diwali, Hanukkah, Eid and Christmas, continuing their maths workbooks as well as much much more!!
