...........................................................................

In 2004, following 4 years in office, Sarah Whittaker resigned as Chair Person of the Governing Body. During the Conservatory Opening celebrations Steve McTegart thanked her and wished her well in the future.

It's official!
Stoke Row School has been judged as effective, with several examples of excellence, including the highly effective Governing Body. Sarah's leadership was recognised as being instrumental in helping to develop the school so effectively. Points such as the devlopment of the curriculum in Foundation Stage, Maths, English, ICT and PE were noted as examples that should be shared with other schools. Thanks to everyone who has done so much to make the school 'officially' class 'A'.

March 6th - World Book Day
On a glorious Spring Day all the school children, and some staff members too, arrived at school wearing the clothes worn by their favourite book characters. There were Cruella's, James Bond's, Supermen, Princesses, Robin Hoods, Wizards, Pirates, Chefs, Fairies, Vikings and even Millie-Molly-Mandy! Much fun and merriment was had under the watchful eye of THE DEMON HEADMASTER!

CHRISTINGLE
Christingle
This is the wonderful Christmas Service which takes place during a winter's evening after school, in St John's Church. Each of the children decorate an orange with a candle, ribbon and sweets to signify the world and it's light. During the service, in which they charm us with new carols, the children hold their lit 'Christingles' and the church lights are switched off. It is truly a moving sight and one that reminds us all just how close we are to Christmas!

STOKE ROW GOLDEN JUBILEE PARTY
Despite the weather, what a great afternoon we had! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make such a successful party. Hopefully, in the future, our children will tell their children how they celebrated the Jubilee. Games and singing at the Village Hall were followed by a super 'Jubilee Tea' back at school. Green classroom was transformed with the unique red, white and blue bunting designed by every child in the school. At the end of the afternoon each child received a commemorative Jubilee coin and scroll. Click on the photo below to see the happy faces - a truly memorable occasion for everyone!
