Local MP, BORIS JOHNSON replied to the children's letters inviting him to come along to the Grand Opening of the new conservatory building, being constructed throughout the summer. Read his replies here.
The Four Season Conservatory
It has been confirmed that Stoke Row has been awarded £18,000 from the Seed Challenge Funding Partnership toward the cost of the new conservatory, being built this Summer. The new Conservatory will mean several advantages, including;
- A single, secure point of entry for visitors throughout the day
- A new, improved office space
- A new location for our library
- A single entrance and exit for children at the beginning and the end of the day, close to Yellow Class. (No more lost parents!)
- A ramped, disabled access to the main building
- A new teaching space in the existing office
- A new cloakroom area, releasing the existing areas for storage
Please take a look at the new conservatory here.
Green Class have now ordered £2000 worth of Guided Reading Materials Resources for Guided Reading in the Foundation Stage as we mean to deliver an improved curriculum and this will enable us to do it!
Interactive White Boards
After the beautiful summer break of 2003 we report on several changes in school include re-wiring and re-plumbing, plus new carpeting in the staff room. In the class rooms, we have installed new 'interactive white boards' which the children can tell you all about. Very high-tec! Take a look here!
NEW CLASSROOM
Many thanks to the members of the New Village Hall Working Committee, especially Graham Whittaker and Rita Gregory for their hard work during the past year. We were unsuccessful in our bid to the county for a permanent brick-built classroom/hall to replace the very old Portacabin, but are pleased to have sited the new 'Yellow' classroom into position. Thanks to all teachers, staff and parents who helped us move in. The classroom is now fully operational and highly successful! Click on the photo for a larger image.

CYCLING PROFICIENCY
The new Cycle Shed was erected in 2002, just in time for the cycling proficiency course. Mrs Deane, with a band of parent helpers, once again masterminded this. All ten of the children who received instruction passed the most stringent test the team had ever witnessed. Well done, everyone and safe cycling!
LIBRARY
Louise Williams, in her role as Literacy Co-ordinator, masterminded the working party redecorating the library on Saturday 23rd March. The result is wonderful: the lemon yellow walls and pale blue paintwork make it look much brighter and warmer. Louise has sorted the books, set up a Key Stage 1 area and added plants and posters. The Story-Sack Room has been decorated in keeping with the library and a generous parent has provided new furniture so that the room can be used for small group work and by the peripatetic music teachers. Gwyn Cummins and the Croppers have also fitted a new door between the Library and Green Class. Please come and have a look if you would like to. A huge thank you to those parents who helped.
