Year 6 I.M.P.S visit to Townlands Hospital to learn emergency life skills

Year 6 children recently visited Townlands Hospital enrolled on the Injury Minimisation Programme for Schools (IMPS) where they were taught emergency life skills. During their visit, the children had the opportunity to visit the emergency department to familiarise themselves with hospital and emergency equipment used. They were also taught emergency life skills including basic life support. The children found this a valuable, stimulating and rewarding experience.
