Stoke Row Spelling Bee and World Book Day

Stoke Row School celebrated ‘World Book Day’ recently with a ‘spelling bee’ event.  Each class chose a book and all the children dressed up as a character from their favourite story.  Bubble class chose ‘The Gruffalo’ and Raindrop class dressed up as farmyard characters from ‘Farmer Duck’. River class followed their topic about biomes and animals and were creative with characters from ‘The Great Kapok Tree’.  Ocean class created their costumes from recyclable materials and performed ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ to the whole school.  The spelling bee was lots of fun and the children had worked extremely hard to learn their spellings over the week leading up to the competition.
