Ocean class represent Stoke Row School

Ocean class pupils have showed our school values this term in a range of events.

Climate Change Workshopclimate change (2)

Some of our Ocean Class girls were selected to take part in a Climate Change Workshop at Whitchurch Primary School where they had to represent a country and Stoke Row were allocated USA. Clemmie, Charlotte W and Chloe had to give an opening statement on the stage providing America’s perspective on climate change. The girls had to argue and negotiate with other countries to prove America would be able to have the most positive impact on climate change in the future. They did a fantastic job and were overall winners of the debate! Well done girls!

Maths Competition at The Oratory School

Earlier in the term four pupils from Ocean Class (Ella, Clemmie, Reggie and Freddie) went to a year 5 maths competition at The Oratory School. There were eight other primary schools there and overall we finished joint third. The competition consisted of three rounds where the children had to do a timed multiple choice activity, some estimating and a problem solving relay. The group worked really well as a team and Mrs Trevis was very proud of them.

Final Cross Country at Goring

The final Partnership series run at Goring School saw many of our pupils competing.  It was a challenging hilly course but all our runners performed brilliantly demonstrating perseverance until the very end! Our stand out achievement from the series was winning the Year 5/6 girls event both yesterday at Goring and overall! Well done to Clemmie, Hannah, Charlotte W, Charlotte S and Frances! It’s fantastic to see our running continuing to go from strength to strength at Stoke Row! Thanks to Chris for all his hard work and support.
